School Grounds
Watsonia Primary School has spacious playground areas including netball/basketball courts, a large grassed oval, extensive shade areas, well maintained play equipment and landscaped gardens. These features provide opportunities for a variety of outdoor activities.

Extensive renovations to school buildings in 2001 have helped to provide a first class learning environment for students and staff.  This has allowed us to create a new Library.

Watsonia Primary School Library has the following features :
  • A fully automated catalogue, using the Bookmark System. 
  • It is a large, well stocked learning resource.
  • Children can borrow two books for a 14 day period.
  • Class lessons. Each child receives weekly tuition in library usage, research skills and literature.
  • Extra lessons in literature.
  • Experienced staff.

Laptop Computer Access

Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) is a priority at Watsonia Primary School.

  • is regularly available for all students to access.
  • is well equipped with modern laptop computers and printers..
  • provides access to the Internet, filtered against "nasties".
  • is used as a resource for classroom and specialist teachers to ensure that instruction in ICT is relevant to the rest of the curriculum.
  • Students have access to other ICT equipment such as digital cameras and audio recording equipment.
  • Classroom teachers participate in ongoing professional development in ICT.
  • Each classroom has access to a "mini lab" as well as classroom computers.
