ENGLISH A feature of the English Curriculum is the Early Years Literacy Program. All the students in Years Prep to 3 have a daily uninterrupted two hour session in Literacy. This is supplemented by the Literacy Intervention Program as well as the Student Support program for students in Years 4 - 6. Extensions programs are offered in writing and oral language.
MATHEMATICS Early Years Numeracy provides a sound concept base which is further developed in a sequential program from years Prep - 6. Mathematical learning opportunities are created from real-life experiences. Maths extension and support groups.
HEALTH and PHYSICAL EDUCATION All classes have timetabled PE lessons each week Indoor Physical Education Room Family Life & Personal Development programs Interschool sports for students in years 4 - 6 Swimming program Sun Smart school
INTEGRATED STUDIES Sequential planned units which incorporate aspects of Science, SOSE & Technology. All Integrated units are based on the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS). All excursions are linked to Integrated units being studied.
THE ARTS Specialist Art Teacher Fully equipped Art Room All classes have timetabled Art lessons each week Art lessons support classroom programs & school performances Community involvement: Banyule Council Arts Programs & Watsonia Festival Areas studied include: painting, drawing, textiles, construction, collage & clay.
